Mr. John Hasse is World Vision Zambia’s National Director. He is responsible for all World Vision operations in the country, which includes working with nearly 120,000 sponsored children and the management of several government and privately funded grants, with a focus on improving the lives of Zambian children and communities. John has been in this role since May 2018. Prior to moving to Zambia, John was World Vision’s National Director in Haiti for over four years. Prior to this, John worked in World Vision’s Washington DC office for over seven years, where he held positions that oversaw teams that worked with over 500,000 sponsored children in Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. He also developed government-funded grant programs in Latin America and the Caribbean for several years in the areas of food security, child protection and emergency response. He also served a short stint as Senior Director for Humanitarian and Emergency Affairs.
Prior to joining World Vision, John managed the Office of the Director for USAID’s Office of Food for Peace, the U.S. Government’s largest resource for food aid and food security assistance. While at USAID he also oversaw programs in Africa and Central America. John began his career in International Development working in an orphanage outside of Port-au-Prince. His experience also includes working for an environmental private equity fund, the U.S. Mint, and helping manage his family’s fire and safety business. Mr. Hasse holds a Master’s degree in International Development from The American University and lives with his wife, three sons and daughter in Lusaka
